With gas prices being what they are I have heard rumblings lately about resurecting the 55MPH speed limit. Since most folks dont drive close to the 70 MPH we have now in MI, I can see this working out real well. Modern vehicles are typically geared for around 65-70 MPH for optimal mileage (my personal experience and I have owned quite a few) many sedans now get over 30 MPG running 70 MPH, can we just leave this failed idea on the shelf, labeled with the other things the Govt tried and never worked?
